My whole life has been about giving…and volunteering holds a special place with me. I am currently volunteering as a UX Designer. In the past I have

volunteered at the Salvation Army & other local soup kitchens, I volunteered delivering food to seniors with Meals on Wheels. I volunteered at a men’s 

shelter doing intake and providing toiletries and food to guests. I also went to the safe homes as a volunteer aid to woman who escaped sex 

trafficking who were trying to get back on their feet. I learned so much while volunteering that I would say it changed my life. 

As long as volunteering does not interfere in anyway with my job and family. I think doing it even if it’s just once a month is powerful way to show empathy for the world around you. I have been volunteering when able to for over 15 years. Getting a lot of my opportunities from Hope For NY and NYC Cares.
